Us Evertonians will have received their season ticket renewal forms in the post this morning, but there was one notable absence from the brochure that landed on the doormat: David Moyes. The Everton boss, along with club captain Phil Neville, is conspicuous by his absence in the A5 pamphlet the Blues hope will counter the team’s horrendous display on Saturday afternoon. Instead, Phil Jagielka is given the unenviable task of trying to convince Evertonians to part with their hard-earned money 10 games before the end of the current season. Jags tells us that it’s an honour to run out to Z-Cars at Goodison Park, and that at the heart of Everton’s support is our loyal season ticket holders, although given the timing you would have to wonder if he’d mentioned that to any of the other players before popping down to the Post Office in Walton. Moyes’ lack of even a mention throughout the brochure may well be an oversight, or could be indicative of that fact that nobody at Goodison Park knows whether he will stay or go, or it could even signal that he just isn’t sticking around at the end of the season and Everton are playing the same cards they used when Wayne Rooney was omitted from the merchandise brochure months before signing for Manchester United. Your thoughts on this? ?
